Philippines and South Korea partner on capacity building and innovation

A key area of the collaboration is the establishment of a portable tuberculosis screening system.

The Philippines’ Department of Health (DOH) has announced a collaboration with South Korea to explore capacity development initiatives and innovation in the country’s healthcare sector.

The partnership involves key areas such as the establishment of a portable tuberculosis (TB) screening system, digital data integration, and upgrades to laboratory and treatment equipment.

Both parties also discussed the potential for South Korean pharmaceutical companies to invest in the Philippines.

Meanwhile, the DOH proposed cooperation on educational healthcare courses and sought support for Bagong Urgent Care and Ambulatory Services (BUCAS) centres.
