Laos starts China-aided renovation of city hospital
The project is expected to improve the hospital’s modernisation level.
A groundbreaking ceremony has been held for the China-aided upgrading and renovation project of Luang Prabang hospital in the northern part of Laos, Xinhua, PRC's official news agency, reported.
Chinese consul general in Luang Prabang Li Zhigong said the project is expected to further improve the hospital's modernisation level and medical treatment capabilities, Li said.
Lao minister of health Bounfeng Phoummalaysith thanked China for its assistance.
Laos was the 17th top country that China has invested the most in, in terms of outward foreign direct investment (FDI), based on data from the Statistical Bulletin of China in 2015. Four of the top 20 countries that China has invested in came from Southeast Asian nations, as noted by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC).
