Cambodia and China inks MoU for respiratory disease prevention and control

The aim is to foster collaboration for respiratory health.

Cambodia has joined hands with China for stronger efforts in the prevention and control of chronic respiratory diseases in the nation.

This was made possible through a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Cambodia’s Central Hospital, led by Director Sim Sovannara, and representatives from Central Hospital to China.

The partnership is part of a larger project aimed towards fostering collaboration between China and the nations of Cambodia, Lao PDR, Myanmar, and Vietnam (CLMV) in preventing and controlling respiratory illnesses.

One of the project’s goals is to establish the ASEAN-China Respiratory Speciality Cooperative Organisation to promote public health initiatives for the benefit of both regions.

Furthermore, the initiative aims to improve communication and joint efforts, as well as facilitate seminars and research collaborations between China and CLMV countries.
