Fortis Healthcare has announced the launch of a new institute for genomic medicine in India.
The ‘Fortis Institute of Genomic Medicines’ brings together a multi-disciplinary team in the fields of hematology, oncology, neurology, paediatrics, and pathology.
In addition, the team consists of genomic scientists, bioinformaticians, and artificial intelligence engineers.
According to Yash Rawat, Facility Director, Fortis Memorial Research Institute, Gurugram, genomic testing is changing how health and chronic conditions are assessed and managed.
“It will be crucial in curbing noncommunicable diseases by enhancing early disease detection, treatment precision, and risk assessment,” Rawat added.
