Aster DM Healthcare to expand Narayanadri Hospital

The company seeks to make the hospital a tertiary care facility.

India-listed Aster DM Healthcare has partnered with Andhra Pradesh’s Tirupati-based Narayanadri Hospital & Research Institution to expand its existing 150 bedded hospital to 250 beds, the company said in a bourse filing.

Aster DM Healthcare said this plan will make the hospital a comprehensive tertiary care facility, with the option of expanding to a quaternary care facility in future. This will be the fifth hospital under Aster DM Healthcare in the state of Andhra Pradesh.

The upgraded hospital will provide 24/7 emergency and critical care as well as super specialties like neurosciences, multi-organ transplantation, oncology, gastro sciences, cardiac sciences, rheumatology, endocrinology, women and children, among others, Aster said.

This is part of the company’s operations and maintenance (O&M) asset-light model strategy undertaken to add up to 500 to 700 beds in India, the company said.
