SG MOH adds 3 conditions to chronic disease mgmt programme

It brought the total of approved chronic conditions to 23.

Senior Minister of State for Health Koh Poh Koon announced gout, allergic rhinitis, and chronic hepatitis B will be added to the Chronic Disease Management Programme (CDMP) from 1 July. The number of approved chronic conditions under CDMP will be 23 with the new additions, MOH said separately. Other covered conditions include hypertension, anxiety, and dementia.

The additions to the CDMP will benefit around 134,000 existing polyclinic patients, as well as Community Health Assist Scheme (CHAS), Pioneer Generation, and Merdeka Generation cardholders who can tap on MediSave and CHAS subsidies for better community management. In addition, over 60% of chronic attendances at polyclinics would be covered under CDMP.

Concerning polyclinics, Koh also announced the opening of a new polyclinic in Taman Jurong by 2028 and the redevelopment of Queenstown Polyclinic.
