Raffles Medical commits $5m to healthcare and education initiatives

Two-year partnership launched to provide specialised care for vulnerable children and youths.

Raffles Medical Group (RMG) has committed $5m over the next five years to improve healthcare access, support education, advance healthy longevity research, and assist vulnerable communities.

The group also announced it will award 50 scholarships over the next five years to students from Singapore and across the region pursuing healthcare-related studies.

The announcements were made during RMG's 50th anniversary dinner, attended by Singapore President Tharman Shanmugaratnam and Health Minister Ong Ye Kung.

The $5m commitment will focus on four areas, namely improving healthcare access, supporting education, advancing healthy longevity research, and assisting vulnerable communities.

As part of the initiative, RMG will partner with Children's Aid Limited for two years to provide specialised care for children and youths under Melrose Home and Melrose Care.

The partnership will fund a senior on-site psychologist, mental wellness and sleep hygiene workshops, vaccinations, and medical consultations.

RMG said the scholarship programme aims to develop healthcare professionals across the cities where it operates. Since 2012, the group has awarded 51 scholarships to students from Singapore and the region.

The group also launched a commemorative book, Moments that Matter, Fifty Years of Care, marking its journey from a two-clinic practice established in 1976 to an integrated healthcare network of four hospitals and more than 100 clinics across 12 cities in five countries.

The anniversary celebration follows another milestone after RMG surpassed 50 million cumulative patient visits in July 2026.

Looking ahead, the group said it will continue investing in healthcare talent, preventive care, healthy longevity, and community initiatives as it works towards its next phase of growth.
