India's Fortis Escorts Faridabad opens dedicated Parkinson’s, movement disorders clinic
Cinic will offer Deep Brain Stimulation assessment and other advanced treatments.
Fortis Escorts Faridabad has launched the city’s first dedicated Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Clinic to provide specialised neurological care for patients in Faridabad and neighbouring areas.
The clinic will operate every Friday from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and will treat Parkinson’s disease, dystonia, writer’s cramp, pharyngospasm, tremors, and other abnormal movements.
The facility will offer early diagnosis, multidisciplinary assessment, personalised treatment, and long-term care.
Services include Deep Brain Stimulation assessment, post-operative programming, ultrasound- and EMG-guided botulinum toxin injections, neurorehabilitation guidance, and disease management counselling.
Complementary wellness programmes, including music, dance, and yoga, will also be available.
The clinic was inaugurated by a 62-year-old woman who had successfully undergone treatment for Parkinson’s disease.
“Our dedicated Parkinson’s Clinic is designed to provide a comprehensive, one-stop solution for early diagnosis, multi-disciplinary evaluation, personalised treatment, and ongoing care, ensuring that patients receive the right support at every stage of treatment,” said Vinit Banga, director and head of Neurology at Fortis Escorts Hospital, Faridabad.
Neha Pandita, senior consultant of neurology at Fortis Escorts Hospital, said symptoms such as tremors, stiffness, slowness, involuntary movements, gait and balance problems and coordination changes are often overlooked, which can delay diagnosis and treatment.
"As the region’s first dedicated facility of its kind, the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Clinic bridges a critical gap in specialised neurocare for Faridabad and neighbouring areas, the launch reinforces our commitment to making world-class, multidisciplinary healthcare accessible right here in our community,” Abhishek Sharma, facility director at Fortis Escorts Faridabad, said.
