New obstetrics and gynaecology hospital to be built in Changshu

The hospital will have a 25,000sqm floor area, and around 140 beds.

OUE Lippo Healthcare Limited (OUELH) has entered into a joint venture with China Merchants Group to build the Changshu China Merchants - Lippo Obstetrics & Gynaecology Hospital in Jiangsu province.

Changshu Hospital will have a total gross floor area of about 25,000sqm with around 140 beds. Tapping on the local market opportunities, the Changshu Hospital will be positioned as a specialist hospital providing premium Obstetrics & Gynaecolog services, including paediatric and postpartum care, all targeted at the affluent market segment which otherwise will seek high-quality medical care services from O&G hospitals in Shanghai.

The partners plan to structure the business of the hospital based on a lease and operate model under a long-term lease of 19.5 years with the OUELH having the right of first refusal to renew the lease upon expiry of the lease agreement. It will also have the opportunity to acquire the hospital property throughout the lease term.

The hospital is expected to be commissioned in 2023.
