Burjeel cuts radiation, sharpens images with new AI cath labs
The labs will serve interventional cardiology, amongst others.
Burjeel Holdings has opened its first artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cardiac catheterisation labs at Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi and Burjeel Speciality Hospital Sharjah.
Both labs run on Siemens Healthineers' ARTIS icono.vision platform, which offers 200-degree rotational 3D imaging and system positioning precision better than 0.5 millimetres.
Burjeel said its OPTIQ AI feature analyses live images and cuts background noise in real time across 2D imaging modes and body areas.
“That keeps image quality high at very low radiation doses, in line with the ALARA principle of keeping exposure as low as reasonably achievable,” the company said.
The labs will serve interventional cardiology, structural heart services, vascular surgery, interventional radiology, neurointerventional procedures and pain management.
Supported procedures include complex coronary interventions, chronic total occlusion procedures, structural heart interventions, peripheral vascular therapies, embolisation, interventional oncology and advanced aortic repairs.
