Asian American Medical Group opens medical center in China

Leading liver surgeon Dato’ Dr Tan Kai Chah will head the facility.

The Asian American Medical Group Limited has opened the Asia Advance Multi-Specialty Medical Centre, the first Singapore-operated medical center in Hainan, China.

The medical center, which opened on 1 December 2020, is helmed by Dato’ Dr Tan Kai Chah and staffed by permanent and visiting doctors from Singapore, South Korea, and United Kingdom. It is located in the Boao International Hospital, where AAMG rented over 3,500 square metres of space.

The medical center plans to leverage on the more than 600,000 mainland Chinese who travel annually overseas for medical advice and treatments.

Operated by Asia Advance Medical Group, a wholly owned subsidiary of AAMG, the centre offers industry-leading facilities and comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services, including health screening, endoscopy, radiology, laboratory testing, and surgical procedures.

“We are very excited with the opening of the Asia Advance’s medical centre in China. It is a significant milestone for us and our partners. Although our plans were delayed by Covid-19, we are confident that we will be able to make up for lost time. We are particularly gratified that many of our patients who used to travel to Singapore for treatments will come to the centre in Hainan,” Dr Tan said
